Researcher Development Programme

"I can communicate my research orally and in writing to different audiences."

As a researcher, communicating your research clearly to different audiences is crucial to your development into a professional. It allows you to attend conferences, publish papers, give public talks, etc. Furthermore, it is important because the impact and public engagement agenda will grow in importance over the coming years for both the University and your funders.

You can develop these skills through courses run by the University Library and the Public Engagement Team, as well as courses run by the RDP. The Language Centre also has an excellent set of online resources on Academic Writing, aimed at international students but often also relevant to native English speakers.
