Researcher Development Programme

"I can lead others."

Being able to act as an effective leader is an important skill in the wider world as well as within the research community. Even if you don't pursue a career heavily dependent on leadership, any role is likely to have at least some times when your ability to lead is crucial.

You can develop these skills by taking opportunities to be a leader whilst you are doing your PhD, such as organising a conference or seminar series, as well as through courses run by the RDP.
