Postgraduate Researcher Development

We aim to enable as many students as possible to meet a member of the Researcher Development team within a reasonable period of time.

In order to be fair to our many users we limit any individual to three appointments per term.

Thirty minutes is the standard allocation of time for an appointment, though this can be extended up to fifty minutes.

We may need to limit appointments further when periods of high demand occur, to enable us to meet our aim of supporting as many students as we can.

To make the best use of your time and that of the Researcher Development team, please ensure that the topic of your appointment relates to researcher and/or personal and professional development. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Reflecting on and considering where you are in your studies
  • Efficiently and effectively managing your time
  • Discussion of RD course content and material
  • Self-management, resilience and coping
  • Guidance on working remotely
  • Advice on managing reading and writing
