Researcher Development

Covid-19 Update

Our usual programme of workshops and face-to-face support has been temporarily suspended. Instead, please check out our new RD Online section, where you can find a whole host of new (and existing) content available remotely.

If you're involved in teaching, please take a look at the CCTL website for advice and support on Teaching Remotely, including undergraduate supervisions.

Researcher Development

Researcher Development provide a whole suite of resources and opportunities to support research students from all disciplines across the University of Cambridge. This provision is intended to complement that of the Schools and Departments, so that you can develop the skills you need to be successful in your research right now, and in whatever career you progress on to afterwards.

The development opportunities provided by Researcher Development are designed around the Researcher Development Framework (CamRDF), which was developed specifically for Cambridge research students.

Where to begin?

We highly recommended that all research students complete the Skills Analysis Survey at the beginng of their studies and each academic year thereafter. This is an online resource designed to help you assess your existing skillset against the core competencies of the CamRDF, and then develop a plan of where you'd like to focus your development efforts.
